| HELSINKI COOLER VOL.1 > RELEASES | ||||
| CYM001, released Sep 20, 2005 | ||||
Named after the capital of Finland, Helsinki Cooler vol. 1 is a sincere
tribute to the flourishing new forms of Finnish electronica and jazz.
The compilation includes deluxe classics from such top notch artists as
Jimi Tenor, Nuspirit Helsinki, Nicole Willis and Quintessence as well as
previously unheard sounds from rising talents such as Saine, Jessielle
and Säätiö Organisaatio. Helsinki Cooler vol. 1 also features two
previously unreleased Teddy Rok Seven remixes by world-renowned producers Dominic Stanton (Domu) and Steve Miller (Afterlife).
Helsinki Cooler was the official soundtrack for the high class design event Helsinki Design Week in September 2005, and gives the perfect atmosphere for every chilled out evening. The Helsinki Cooler concept is about music with an ear for the past, an eye for the future and a heart for the flow. It’s all about being inspired by Helsinki and it’s breezy streets and icy beaches. The CD also promotes the Helsinki image in Japan. Feel free to drop by www.visithelsinki.jp for more info. Selected by Costi, supervised by Saine, DJ Flux and TomW Mastered by Toni Kimpimäki, Cover design by D-Angle Comments: Aaron Michelson, Ubiquity Records (USA): “I absolutely love it – wonderful selection and just the right mood. Just exquisite.” Antti Eerikäinen, Ricky-Tick Records (FI): “A stylish selection of modern music from Finland. I was delighted to find out, that Cooler is not riding on the so-called Finnish exotism (sauna, moss, reindeers). It´s all about universal values; good music, artists and production.” |
