Helsinki Cooler vol. 3 is a journey through the world of sensitivity and freedom of expression. The main coordinates are innovative soundscapes, fresh beats, soulful vocals and an unprejudiced variety of moods. This is our interpretation of the new nordic oddity.
Like its predecessors, the third volume brings out the best of innovative Finnish views in electronic jazz fusion and its flourishing sub-genres. This special edition double CD shows a broader spectrum of talent than the previous volumes, with the first CD emphasizing on live
band sound with various vocalists and the second one focusing on instrumental experimentations with exquisite electronic sounds.
The concept of Helsinki Cooler is about music with an ear for the past, an eye for the future and a heart for the flow. Helsinki Cooler vol. 3 compilation was released in conjunction with Fennofolk, the Helsinki-based Design Museum´s main exhibition in summer 2008. Fennofolk - New nordic oddity presents an analysis of Finnish culture from a new perspective.
